  • Powered Tugs Heavy Loads V-Move

    3rd March, 2017 | by
Powered Tugs Heavy Loads VM XXL (1) read more

Pedestrian electric tugs capable of towing up to 40 tonnes enable you to easily move and accurately manoeuvre trailers, carts and trolleys over level or sloping surfaces. They are used mainly to bridge short distances.

Because of their robust engine, the V-MOVE electric powered tug may be deployed on both hard and soft surfaces. They can be on the work floor, in the factory, in airports and many other locations. It can pull an aeroplane from a hangar, park a horse trailer, move luggage trolleys and put containers in their place in a factory store. You’ll never need to physically push or pull a trailer again.

The V-MOVE electric tug range enables you to rapidly manoeuvre any load on wheels without physical effort. They can function for an entire shift on a single battery. They have no emissions, are quiet, strong and easy to operate.

Ride-on and Stand-on electric tow devices are designed for longer distances. These machines are used at auctions, manufacturing plants, hospitals, nurseries, warehouses and airports. Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport alone uses more than 250 V-MOVE electric tow tractors.

Flex Impact Traffic Barrier TB 400 read more

Flex Impact Polymer Traffic Barriers are a safe way to protect forklifts from other vehicles and building assets. These barriers create a safe environment in an economical manner and the modular construction allows elements of the system to be easily positioned. Flex Impact systems are so successful they make conventional steel barriers obsolete!

These innovative polymer safety barrier systems have been specially designed to use in working environments, where fast processes and shipments occur daily. It’s on these sorts of premises where building assets and machinery needs to be segregated from traffic collisions.

Our testing has proven that these barriers can resist high-impact collisions of a 3.5-tonne forklift at high speed. This makes them the ultimate tool for the protection of machinery and buildings against heavy-duty vehicles. Flex Impact Traffic Barriers are one of the most popular products on the market, worldwide!

  • How To Boost Your Profits With The Right Jib Crane

    2nd January, 2024 | by
Practicus free standing jib crane 7 read more

Selecting the Perfect Jib Crane to Meet Your Business Needs

Choosing the perfect jib crane streamlines your operations and significantly boosts profits by enhancing efficiency and reducing operational costs. We offer a wide range of material handling products, each made for different jobs – but which is right for your business?

To make the right decision, you need to know which piece of material lifting equipment you need so that it aligns perfectly with your business’s unique requirements. The solution is to consider specific factors that define each crane, such as how much weight they can lift, where you’ll use them, and how much space they need.

Let’s start with an overview of our fleet of material handling products and then move on to the specifics that help you select the best one for your business.

    Types of Jib Cranes

At Materials Handling, we have four different categories of jib cranes, as well as supporting equipment – here’s a quick overview of these cranes and their uses.

    1. Davit Cranes

Ideal for portable lifting, the Aluminium Porta-Davit and T-Davit models offer flexibility and ease of movement. These cranes are especially useful in outdoor and remote job sites, as they can easily be transported and set up quickly for tasks such as construction lifting and emergency rescue operations.

      2. Floor Cranes

The Mobile Workshop crane is perfect for manoeuvring in tight spaces, ensuring material lifting is efficient even in constrained environments. These jib cranes are ideal for indoor use in warehouses and workshops, where their compact design allows for efficient lifting and handling of materials without obstructing regular operations.

    3. Gantry Cranes

These include the Mobile and Mobile Aluminium Porta-Gantry models, which are suitable for larger-scale operations requiring mobility and robust lifting capacity. Gantry Cranes are valuable in shipyards, construction sites, and manufacturing plants, where they can handle heavy loads and provide essential support for tasks such as equipment assembly and lifting and transporting heavy materials.

    4. Specialised Jib Cranes

The Aluminium MechRail, Articulated, Low Headroom, Portable MobiCrane, Modular JibFlex, and Workstation material handling products cater to specific requirements. For example, low headroom spaces or the need for precise positioning.

    5. Support Equipment

Jibs for Cable and Hose Supply, Quick-Lift Arms, and the Vacuum Lifter EasyCrane augment the functionality of jib cranes, facilitating smoother operations.

When choosing material lifting equipment, consider these factors

Now that we’ve explored different types of material lifting equipment and their applications, it’s important to focus on the key factors to consider when choosing the right jib crane for your specific business needs.

    • Load Capacity: Match the crane’s capacity with your typical lifting requirements.
    • Reach and Coverage: Ensure the crane’s arm length and rotation meet your workspace’s dimensions.
    • Installation Requirements: Evaluate your facility for installation feasibility, including space and structural support.
    • Maintenance Needs: Regular maintenance is vital for safety and longevity. Choose a crane with accessible parts and service options.

When you consider these factors and understand the unique applications of each jib crane, you’re in an excellent position to select the one that aligns perfectly with your business’s needs. For more details on our material lifting equipment, call us at 1300 258 407 or email us – we’re glad to help!
