These devices feature a far-reaching Neodymium magnet element to ensure no steel object escapes. They are available in 1.5 or 2.1-metre widths and can be towed or pushed by vehicles such as forklifts, tractors, trucks, ride-on mowers and so on. They skim the surface at a height of about 50 mm; with the inboard wheels, operators can sweep against walls and fences. A manual winch lifts the internal magnet element, to release collected ferrous material.
