Jibs – Cable and Hose Supply
9th December, 2022 | by Matthew BrittainOur Catenary Jib (also known as a charging station jib arm) is a professional solution to safely conduct cables and/or hoses above a workstation.
A wall-mounted jib allows the staff to work safely without electrical cables becoming a trip hazard in the work area. This creates a simplified work environment and minimises operator strain and setup times.
The jib boom is a zinc-plated enclosed steel profile. The maintenance-free pivot consists of a stainless steel pivot pin and self-lubricating bushes for smooth operation.
Each assembly is supplied complete with cable trolleys and an end-fix to secure round cable at the beginning of the jib profile. It is possible to add extra cable trolleys or a trolley to suspend tooling or a spring balancer. It is also possible to exchange the cable trolleys for a version suitable for flat cable.
Max load 10kg. The jib boom can be trimmed to length to suit your application (max Length = 3000mm).

Materials Handling begins its next chapter with new GM, Gary Doherty

Gary Doherty, who has spent over 35-years in the materials handling industry, will head the company aiming to maintain the business’ high quality of products and safety solutions and continuous innovation in its industry.
With experience in sales and services, Doherty wants to create a safe, nourishing, and friendly work environment that filters through to the cliental the company assists. Diversifying the business’ strategies and prioritising safety, Doherty is ambitious when it comes to ‘working with ease’.
“I’m very excited to be undertaking the role of General Manager for Materials Handling Pty Ltd, especially during an interesting time of growth and change,” said Doherty.
“When it comes to working safely, my main priorities are to ensure our staff go home to their families in the same shape when they left. We want the same for our customers too. That’s why Materials Handling Pty Ltd is abreast of current safety guidelines, policies, and national standards.”

Thrilled to take on the role and service safety solutions Australia-wide, Doherty knew working for Materials Handling Pty Ltd was unlike any other company he has experienced before. Not only has the family-owned business led the way in materials handling and safety for over 40-years, but its product catalogue boasts a range that sells everything from trolleys, conveyors, access equipment, drum handling equipment and lifting equipment, to manual and materials handling solutions.

Doherty has already commenced his position as General Manager with Materials Handling Pty Ltd and has begun ensuring the business is set for success. Outside of this full-time role, Doherty enjoys music, highly competitive sports, and spending time with his family when he can.
