World Day for Safety

This Saturday, 28 April 2018, marks the World Day for Safety and Health at work (SafeDay). In a joint campaign with the World Day against Child Labour (WDACL), organisations are combining forces to improve safety of workers and end child labour.

It is estimated that 541 million young workers suffer up to a 40 per cent higher rate of non-fatal occupational injuries.  Many of these injuries can be accounted to lack of experience or training that has led workers to accept dangerous jobs in poor working conditions.

The World Day for Safety and Health (supported by Safe Work Australia) aims to address such challenges and combat hazardous risks and such statistics. It is more important than ever before to ensure that your workers are educated, trained, have access to a positive working environment and are empowered to speak up about health and safety in the workplace.

As a distributor and supplier of some of the nation’s leading safety products, we know how much this day means to employees, families and organisations. Materials Handling is proud to be certified to the Australian Standard of Safety and continues to provide solutions for workplaces worldwide. We offer our employees a great working environment, with regular communication, risk assessing and evaluation processes and access to equipment, which reduces strains and injuries.

In 2014, we took the pledge to ensure that our workers return home safe from work.  That means, their practices, work requirements and business endeavours are conducted carefully, safely and effectively.

Now in 2018, we continue to support the SafeDay and its initiatives by promoting the event around our workplace and providing our employees with beneficial resources.

Let us help you build a safe and healthy workplace for your employees (especially on the World Day for Safety)!

It’s not too late to do the same.  Speak to us about how we can improve the Workplace Health and Safety endeavours around your organisation.  We have a number of lifting, materials handling and safety equipment solutions to make your processes easier, more efficient and safe for all those involved.
