Cars Stacked Up – It’s the Law in the West!

The Western Australian (WA) police have a large building, in a holding yard in Belmont Perth, that stores vehicles involved in incidents that are yet to be dealt with before the courts. To ensure these vehicles remain in the exact condition they entered in as, they need to be stored under cover with all contents during the time of the incident still in place.

The WA police wanted to store more vehicles and avoid paying huge expenses to construct a new building, where the overall cost could escalate into the millions. Materials Handling P/L offered the solution of our 3 level Car Stacker and our tender was accepted. The WA police saved money by installing our solution as the price was less than $400,000.  It proved to be an admirable cost benefit than a new building and the cars even took up less space.

Materials Handling P/L sent two of our own installation/service team employees, Bryan and David, who accomplished assembly of the task in just over a week. They erected sixteen bays of 3 level car stackers, with a 2,500kg capacity per level – this accommodates 48 vehicles including SUV’s on a footprint that usually would store only 16 vehicles. Furthermore, the electro-hydraulic system stores and retrieves these vehicles safely and with little effort.

Because of security reasons we are unable to show the actual installation but the four bay image attached shows exactly what the bays look like. We also provide multiple bay x 4 high versions.
