Freestanding or Roof Mounted
An Altrac Monorail System can be used for materials handling applications when loads need to be moved a long distance, but not necessarily back and forth as with a gantry crane. These can be mounted in the roof (as in the system shown to the left) or freestanding with a frame. The light weight of the aluminium rail will not put undue strain on most existing building structure.
Altrac's ability to be rolled into bends means monorails can be designed to fit almost any shape needed. The unique design of the Altrac six-wheel Trac Trolleys allows them to run smoothly even when moving around bends. This means the trolleys won't stick or require additional effort from the crane operator.
Monorails can also be used for on-site fall arrest systems for maintenance access on large trucks and equipment such as those used in the mining and construction industries. For more information on fall protection, please click here.
Monorails can accommodate up to 1000kg MRC and handle any type of lifting mechanism. Manual, electric, pneumatic or vacuum hoists can be attached.
All Altrac products are compliant with Australian safety codes, including Australian Crane Code AS1418.
