These extruded nitrile rubber buffers are produced in 80 metre lengths and wound onto a spool. There are 3 ways to buy - spool lots, bag lots or cut lengths.Cut lengths as required up to 80m. A premium is paid for 'bag lots' or 'cut lengths'.
'D' Section (hollow)
Normally placed around the edges of the trolley (between corner buffers) to prevent damage to door jambs, etc. Fitted by pushing a (off-cut) metal strip along the centre of the section and screwing through into the side of the trolley. The head of the screw will pop through the outer rubber leaving a small hole. If the strip is to be fitted around a rounded corner, this should be of at least 50mm radius to prevent buckling of the strip.
Round Section (hollow)
The hollow round rubber strip is used as a buffering strip around trolleys. It is often used (instead of the 'D' strip) when a heavy duty buffering strip is needed. It is joined in a circle (slightly smaller than the periphery of the trolley) then stretched over and into a channel section fixed to the edge of the trolley. If the channel edges are 15mm deep they can be tapped down to securely hold the rubber. Locate the join in the centre of one end of the trolley. To join, simply put the joining barb lightly into one end, and push it in with the other end. The barb will push equally into both ends.
