Our safe zone system consists of a range of standard posts, panels and joining components that are combined to provide perimeter guarding for industrial safety applications. Hinged or sliding doors with various electrical safety interlocks ensures the barrier integrity.
Standardised dimensions and components ensure a system that is easy to configure and quick to install.
Australian Standard AS4024 - Safeguarding of Machinery
A perimeter or fence guard is a stationary guard which completely surrounds a machine. It may incorporate part of the machine as part of the fence. Fence guards are often fitted with an interlocked gate or gates, interlocked to the control system.
• Safety distances between the hazard and the physical barrier should be maintained to prevent people from encroaching into the danger zone. Reaching over, reaching through and reaching under must be considered when implementing machine safety guards. AS4024.1 Appendix A
• Guarding shall be selected and arranged to provide a rigid and stable structure and to resist deformation. AS4024.1 clause 8.3.2.
• Physical barriers shall only be able to be removed or adjusted with the use of tools not normally available to operators. AS4024.1 clause 8.1. Panel brackets allow panels to be mounted at an angle to the posts of up to 200 degrees. The integration of approved electrical safety interlocks into the system to assist greater conformity to standards.
Panels
Safe Zone panels are 1800mm high (2000mm high when attached to the post), are constructed from 25mm x 25mm box section steel with a central horizontal strut and are available with widths from 200-2000mm. Panels with a width of 1500mm and above have a central vertical strut added. They are clad with 25mm x 25mm x 3mm welded mesh with a mesh aperture of 22mm x 22mm. They are powder coated black as standard & are alternatively available in stainless steel or with polycarbonate panels. Panel brackets add 25mm to the installation width of a panel. That is, the distance between inside post faces is 25mm greater than the panel width. Standard panels can be utilized either as fixed wall panels or as access gates and sliding doors depending upon the mounting components selected. Panel brackets allow panels to be mounted at an angle to the posts of up to 200 degrees.
Posts
Our Safe Zone perimeter guarding system is suited to all general purpose applications where safety is of paramount interest. Posts have a height of 2000mm, are made from 86 x 86mm extruded aluminium & are powder coated yellow. Post feet are available in six different designs & screw directly to the post. Panel & hinge brackets slide anywhere along the four sides of the aluminium posts allowing complete flexibility. Hinge brackets allow for panels to be used as doors. All hardware brackets, gate components, interlocks etc are compatible with the “T” slots formed in the post extrusion. Panel widths should be selected to ensure rigidity with regard to the individual application. Posts are alternatively available in mild steel or stainless steel construction.
