The means by which the bed and machine are attached is one area that received special attention in the redesign process. Gzunda now automatically attaches/detaches beds with the push of a button and the low profile stainless steel tine, easily gets under many different bed designs & resists unsightly scratching. The command panel has an on/off key, emergency stop button, battery condition monitor, auto attach button, horn, 3 maximum speed settings with variable control via the ergonomic twist grip on the handle. It is supplied standard with a fully sealed, maintenance free, lead acid battery and charger. These design features were the result of partnering with end users in the health care industry as well as Occupational Health and Safety professionals.
With a Gzunda it’s like an individual operator has the ‘strength of ten people. The once arduous task of moving heavy beds between rooms, wards and theatre, over carpet, up slopes and around corners is made easy. One big advantage for health care professionals is of course the reduced risk, leading ultimately to a more satisfied and safer work force, the value of which cannot be underestimated. Since the bed mover is detachable, one bed mover & one person can serve a fleet of hospital beds. A "safety back off reversing bar" prevents an operator being jammed against an obstruction. When activated, it automatically reverses the direction of travel away from the operator for a few seconds.
The new Gzunda is easier to use, better looking and contributes to a safer work place by taking the heavy load of beds off staff – simple as that.
